Proposal Application Engineer for Protection & Control Systems
The successful candidate will be responsible for the bid proposal management for protection and control systems in the utility and industry market segments.
The primary focus of the role will be responding to requests for quotations to support the Business Development Managers in the sales activities. The key working relationships for this position will be with the business development managers, lead engineers, project managers as well as purchasing department.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
Individual bid management responsibility for protection and control systems.
Analyze and interpret customer requirements from tender documents, make quality, accurate proposals with target set time frames.
Able to propose competitive, cost effective technical solutions for the different market segments.
Manage proposals, technically and commercially in timely accurate manner.
Support and participate actively in technical clarifications with customer towards successful completion of technical offer.
Initiate and draft technical documents for tenders to help customers in preparing their tender documents.
Ensure that the projects are handed over to the project execution team with all relevant documents.
Support process improvements, visibility, transparency, and accuracy wherever possible.
Work closely with procurement to identify project costs, lead time requirements, and review of offers.
Provide technical back-office support for the sales teams.
The candidate may be required to travel to project sites – estimated 15% domestic travel
BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 2 years working experience.
Experience in the design and configuration of protection and control systems.
Solid knowledge of at least one of the following vendors' relay products and associated software packages: Siemens/GE/SEL/ABB
Experience in bid proposal is an added advantage.
Quick learner and initiative driven.
Excellent organizational skills in managing proposals and project deliverables.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with customers internal/external.
