Job Description:

Pre Sales - Real Time Locating Systems (RTLS)

Siemens Industry, Inc. has an opening for a PreSales Consultant to support our Siemens and distributor sales teams in the USA. The consultant will support to establish the PD PA CI organization as a competent supplier of holistic localization solutions in the industry and thus provide expert consultative support on technical topics toward driving growth of our RTLS business. It is the goal of the PreSales consultant to integrate new and current products of the RTLS portfolio into localization concepts of end customers (various industries) and to replace competitor products. In collaboration with Sales Specialists this role will support identification, nurturing and closing of opportunities.

This position will report to the Head of the RTLS business in the USA and work closely with the Sales Specialist and Project Engineer.

This position may be based in any major US city.

Responsibility:

  • Provide consultative PreSalessupport to sales team, channel partners, systems integrators, OEMs, andcustomers (“technical advice”) relative to RTLS products and services.

  • Serve as a technical subjectmatter expert for Siemens RTLS products and associated solutions.

  • Assist customers in theearly design stages through application analysis, site surveys, developingRTLS system architectures and proof of concepts as well as recommendationof products suitable for proposed solution, etc.

  • Intensive consulting ofapplications in the environment of RTLS and for the integration into PCand SIMATIC environment.

  • Development of specificsolutions for applications in the target markets of PD PA CI as well asdemonstrating new approaches to enter new markets and applications.

  • Develop and conductin-person technical training, product update sessions or hands-onworkshops for Customers, Distributors, Siemens Sales and SolutionPartners.

  • Grow Siemens RTLS championsthroughout the partner community in the US by providing latest andpertinent technical information.

  • Develop ideas and designRTLS demo systems for use at customer presentations, trade shows andtraining workshops.

  • Support RTLS SalesSpecialists and Product Marketing Manager in customer facing events,presentations and business development efforts.

  • Develop and maintain “tribalknowledge” documentation and application notes for the benefit ofcustomers and partners.

  • Develop content for whitepapers and technical presentations.

  • Collaborate with SiemensRTLS PreSales technical team in Germany to facilitate knowledge transfer.

  • Offer RTLS productimprovement suggestions to Sale Specialist based on field experience andcompetitor intelligence.

Required Knowledge & Skills:

  • Education: BS in engineeringdiscipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Technical knowledgein areas like radio technology, IT or automation engineering as well asdatabase knowledge.

  • Knowledge about theprocesses in industrial manufacturing or logistics.

  • Understandingof localization technologies and their applications in industrialapplications.

  • Abilityto manage multiple opportunities and projects simultaneously.

  • Typically5-10 years of successful experience in related field and successfuldemonstration of key responsibilities and knowledge as presentedabove.

  • Self-motivatedindividual - internally driven.

  • Outwardfocused, customer oriented.

  • Abilityto influence without authority.

  • Provenability to build trusting relationships with sales and customers(interpersonal relationships).

  • Anticipatedtravel: 60%

  • Indepth understanding of RTLS technology for Industrial Applications.
