Job Description:

Position Overview

We are looking for a talented and motivated Software Engineer with experience in UX development tobe part of our highly innovative and fast-paced development team, delivering advanced capabilities for Teamcenter PLM Product suite. The employee will architect, design and implement for a focused product area using distributed, Web and Cloud technologies. Some customer interaction and engagement with Industry experts required.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, modify, and implement software programming for products (both internal and external) with focus on surpassing customer expectations, on achieving high quality and on-time delivery.

  • Make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core, and new, functions and features. Responsible for ensuring the functional quality of the released product on all required platforms.

  • Ability to understand complex products, solutions, and problems. Creates, documents, and executes software designs which may involve significant re-architecture of important systems, complicated workflows or multiple product areas.

  • Leads the design discussions by working with wider group of stakeholders and Architects across LCS organization to design solutions for the complex problems. Skills with high level of proficiency and technical expertise required.

  • Follows the established software development processes and recommended best practices and guidelines.

  • Promotes innovation through the ability to introduce new technology/knowledge into at least one area of the product.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Engineering Degree or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other numerate discipline

  • 8-10 years of experience in the industry with 3-4 years in Thin client application development

  • Rest APIs, Java, Javascript, XML, HTML 4, Eclipse IDE, CI/CD methodologies and tools (Jenkins, Selenium, Maven)

  • Ability to work with customers to understand detailed requirements and design for Usability/UX principles to meet client needs and strategic product vision.

  • A team player, flexible, self-motivated and proactive

  • Excellent verbal and written communication

  • Effective organization and time management abilities

  • Clear thinking and analytical problem solving skills

  • Preferred locations: Troy, MI or Milford, OH

  • Travel: 20%

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • UX design experience with designing complex solutions preferred

  • Expertise in standard UX software such as Sketch, OmniGraffle, Axure is preferred

  • Knowledge of Performance analysis/engineering and Oracle/SQL is desired

  • Exposure to Cloud Development technologies like Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Python, Ruby, or Chef will be desirable.

  • Experience in SPLM products such as Teamcenter (Active Workspace/RAC) is desirable.
