Position Overview

The Production Planner coordinates all aspects of in-house manufacturing. This requires a high level of organization, knowledge and experience with fabrications including structural, mechanical (piping, vessels and tanks) and electrical/instrumentation. Must completely understand the functionality of SAP at it related to production and the entire supply chain.

Position reports to Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains Production Planning module in SAP for all production operations

  • Routings

  • BOM's

  • Reviews and validates RTM's (Release to Manufacturing).

  • Distributes and maintains Master Production orders and distributes copies to appropriate departments.

  • Maintains and distributes all RTM revisions.

  • Runs MRP and daily makes adjustments relating to additions revisions, shortages and creates POR's.

  • Maintains Production Plan external to SAP.

  • Reports production hour actuals and predictions to Project Managers monthly.

  • Must be able to read blue prints.

  • Works closely with Project Planner and Project Manager to insure on time delivery.

  • Closes out Production Orders and makes SAP corrections at the end of each project.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience

  • High school education

  • At least 3 years of experience in production planning

  • Minimal travel

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience

  • Technical degree and at least 5 years experience

  • At least 5 years experience in planning for metal and E/I fabrication
