Job Description:

Position Overview

Siemens. Energy Management Transmission Solutions team, is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer/ Manager in Projects (QMiP) for major High Voltage Flexible Alternating Current Transmission System (FACTS) and Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) projects. The role of the QMiP is to act and support the Project Manager as expert and partner by planning, supervision, ensuring and reporting of appropriate activities with regards to failure prevention, effective proceedings (pro-active & re-active) and continuous improvements over the entire PM@Siemens process. More importantly, you will have the authority to intervene at any stage in the project, if proceedings impact targeted results negatively. The QMiP reports directly to Project Manager and acts as member of the core project team.).


You will incorporate all project related and technology determined activities in order to meet the targeted results with regard to quality under consideration of (a) business related Head Quarter (overall strategy, basic processes and their interfaces, tool application, compliance issues ), (b) customer (contractual requirements, expectations and at least satisfaction), (c) market (statutory, regulatory and state of the art requirements), (d) 3rd parties (e.g. suppliers and sub-contractors, consortium partner, authorities, surveyors, etc.) and (e) -as far as relevant- public conditions and interests. The job incorporates expressively the authorization to escalate non-conforming issues to the functional reporting line and to release a stop to an appropriate range in collaboration with the BU QM.

You will be responsible for communication with internal partners to include but not limited to the Project management team, divisional or sub-divisional functions, the Quality Management network and external partners. You will also interact with the customer (sales support, customer relations management), suppliers, consortium partners, as well as maintain contacts with other third parties to address all the quality targets.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.

• 5 -7 years experience in project execution, a project-related job (engineering, commissioning etc.) and in operational quality management/assurance.

• Travelling an issue? No worries, you would only be required to travel up to 10% of the time.
