Siemens Corporate Technology is developing a vulnerability weaponization prediction framework with external research partners. This framework will provide insights to product developers and customers about risk level transitions based on empirical analysis of vulnerability weaponization data. This tool will be integrated into existing patch management tools utilized internally by Siemens product developers to track updates on product components. The successful candidate will perform development and research tasks to extend and integrate existing research results delivered by university collaboration partners into our tool chain. During this internship, you will experience the excitement and challenges of industrial research. What are my responsibilities?
· You will understand the inner workings of a security vulnerability tracking and management tool
· You will test and evaluate existing results related to the risk aware patch management prototype
· You will implement integration code on a web-based system
· You will research, propose, and implement research validation methods with a broad community of product developers and managers
· You will cooperate with key university partners
What skills are needed to qualify for this internship?
A current student pursuing a BS/MS/PhD degree in Computer Science / Computer Engineering, or other related subject
Understanding of / experience in development environments with Linux boxes (Mint) and servers (RHEL, Ubuntu)
Experience in web development with Ruby on Rails
Prior experience with relational databases / SQL a plus
