The CT Simulation and Digital Twin Technology Field (SDT TF) is seeking a highly motivated Master’s student available for a 3 to 4 month internship in the area of Knowledge Representation. The successful candidate will work with the Product Modeling and Simulation Research Group to develop solutions for real-world problems. You will have the opportunity to test your knowledge in a challenging problem-solving environment. You will be encouraged to think out-of-the-box, innovate and find solutions to real-world problems. Our team has a strong publication record in leading journals and conferences.

Responsibilities

• Develop machine learning methods to address engineering problems.

• Demonstrate understanding of a broad set of algorithms and collaborate with team colleagues to implement reusable, efficient and maintainable software components using mainstream programming languages.

• Integrate software components with existing libraries and software.

• Develop innovative concepts and develop publications.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively under tight project timelines and thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

• Current student enrolled in a PhD (preferred) or Master’s program in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Data Science with concentration in Machine Learning and Knowledge Representation.

• Prior experience with graph-based representation and modeling, semantic-based knowledge representation through coursework, capstone projects and/or publications is required.

• Strong programming skills in Java, C++, or Python are required.

• Experience with open source software such as Protégé or commercial software such as Siemens NX is preferred.

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English are required.

• Drive and motivation for career development, as well as openness to taking on challenges are a plus.

• The successful candidate must be able to work with controlled technology in accordance with US Export Control Law.
