Join our research group Internet of Things – Distributed Systems located in Princeton, NJ, for a 3-4 month internship, and investigate Internet of Things applications for Industrial applications. Our close contact to different business units in Siemens provides the opportunity to contribute to and gain experience in real industrial applications. During this internship, you will experience the excitement and challenges of industrial research.

The CT Internet of Things Technology Field is seeking a highly motivated student available for a 3-4 month internship for our Princeton, NJ location in the area of Distributed Computing and Embedded Software Development. The successful candidate will work with the Distributed Computing research group to develop innovative proof of concepts based on existing Siemens software as well as hardware.

What are my responsibilities?
· You will implement concepts and solutions in prototypes
· Collaborate the development of a software prototypes integrating multiple components
· Design, install and test system components (automation, network and computing) whenever necessary
· Implement reusable, efficient and maintainable software components and test code using C++ and scripting/test automation languages
What skills are needed to qualify for this internship?
· A current MS, or PhD student in Computer Science or a related field
· 1+ years of experience programming in C or C+· 1+ years of practical experience in Automation, e.g. PLCs & HMI programming, automation engineering preferred
· Domain knowledge in automation, machine tools or manufacturing preferred
· Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English with an excellent interpersonal skills and can-do attitude
· Drive and motivation for career development and open to take responsibilities for challenging tasks
· Team player which can also be independent, prioritize work and thrives in a fast-paced dynamic environment;
