We are looking for a Proposal Manager to join our Grid Software team. In this role, you will manage responses to complex tenders, RFPs, unsolicited proposals, and related business development documents. You will own the complete process: the collection of data, the financial estimates, contract administration/negotiations, and other business development activities. This role works in coordination with the sales team, project managers, and business leads.

This is a hybrid work position where in-person teamwork will drive our team’s success. Candidates in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul area preferred.

You’ll make an impact as you:

  • Evaluate proposal requirements and develop delivery plans, gaining a high-level functional understanding of products offered.

  • Create cost/price estimates, considering the financial targets of the business.

  • Run qualification/kick-off calls with the project team, ensuring that projects are transferred smoothly to the execution team.

  • Collaborate with in-house subject matter experts to develop the technical solution; partner with other colleagues to deliver on schedule as a unified team.

  • Support the ongoing use and maintenance of our proposal software tool.

  • Follow proposal procedures to develop polished, professional response to our customers.

  • Develop the financial workbook with input from stakeholders.

  • Coordinate the approval process according to the PM@Siemens guidelines.

You'll win us over by having the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in technical proposal management/RFP management in the energy or software engineering industry.

  • Experience in the financial aspects of bid management processes (cost calculation and financial analysis).

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)

  • Ability to travel 10%

  • Ability to work in the U.S. without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization with the exception of current Siemens employees who could be transferred using an L1 visa.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Engineering degree preferred.

  • Experience in the design and configuration of utility software solutions.

  • Understanding of the Project Management process.

  • Electrical Utility, Software Vendor, or IT industry experience.

  • Sales and/or business development experience.

  • Experience with international and cross border projects.

  • The salary range for this position is $71,190 – $135,360. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
