Job Description:

Position Overview

The Senior Procurement Category Manager is responsible for securing long-term sources of supply for materials, repairs, and maintenance events to support ongoing operation of Siemens Light Rail, Passenger Locomotives and Passenger Coaches throughout North America. This role will report into the Strategic Procurement Manager for Mobility Division, Customer Service Business U.S.

Responsibilities

The Senior Procurement Category Manager is responsible for executing departmental objectives including but not limited to:

· Sourcing

· Negotiation – Contractual and Pricing

· Analysis – Spend and opportunity

· Supplier Management – Drive performance and innovation

· Generate, document and implement savings

Candidate must collaborate with Internal Customers to ensure customer care and early involvement.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

· BS/BA in related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· A minimum of four continual years of successful experience in, and related to Strategic Sourcing or Category/ Commodity Management

  • 15% Travel

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

· Rail industry experience – four years

· Microsoft Excel proficiency
