Job Description:

As a product manager, you will be responsible for driving the overall business success of assigned product(s), from conception and development, to operational excellence and profitability in a team environment.

  • You will provide guidance for product concept, development and realization functions with the intent to maximize revenue, profits, market coverage and other business-defined goals through optimization of applied resources to customer needs.

  • You should be able to justify projects, create business plans, forecast customer acceptance, gather and evaluate customer input, prepare and verify requirements including validation criteria, advise development teams, prepare and execute evaluation and validation plans and promote and champion products internally and externally.

  • You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy, contributing to the strategic vision and making this vision a reality.

  • You must enjoy spending time in the market to witness, document and clearly communicate observations and insights that lead to innovative solutions for the product line.

  • This function requires strong collaborative skills to work with multiple stakeholders across all continents and other business units as needed for the project.

  • You will act as a liaison between the customer and the scientific and development teams so as to translate clinical need into intuitive and effective tools.

  • Based on your understanding of customers and market trends, you should be able to provide guidance for medical imaging applications that are based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide input through various stages of product definition, prototyping and development, working with cross-business stakeholders and providing clear direction to the product steering group.

  • Develop the Marketing Requirement Specifications for new and current product offerings by analyzing the clinical, economical, regulatory and social trends that drive product innovation and affect product utility.

  • Be the customer advocate to the product development team through customer need assessments, competitive feature evaluations, clinical performance targets and competitive price targets analyses.

  • Actively participate in cross-business discussion based on the need of the project.

  • Play a leadership role in a multi-disciplinary team (Product Steering Group) for new and sustaining product development.

  • Own the product life cycle roadmap in assigned areas with clear market and business justification to drive the overall business.

  • Support the Sales and Marketing team to provide guidance and recommendation to develop the Go-to-Market plans.

  • Work with downstream marketing to develop, articulate and validate crisp and compelling Clinical, Operational and Financial Value Propositions to attract market attention that motivate potential customers to select Siemens Healthineers products.

  • Coordinate and support the internal and external clinical evaluations of new product offerings and system upgrades. Communicate clinical results to the cross-functional design team.

  • Support the Sales/Customer Training teams by providing Train-the-Trainer materials and Knowledge Transfer.

  • Perform/participate in market research activities such as focus groups, customer interviews, trade shows and professional meetings.

  • Develop and maintain 3rd party vendor relationships relative to your product requirements. This includes the need to design and execute 3rd party product assessments for the purpose of Make/Buy decisions, especially in the area of Computer Aided Detection and Diagnosis solutions.

  • Serve as the product champion, ensuring product performance meets expectations and explore ways for continuous improvement and market adoption.

  • Handle regulatory and clearing aspects of these devices.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Requires Bachelor’s Degree. PhD or MBA are highly desirable.

  • 2-3 years’ experience in product management, marketing, R&D or related function.

  • Prior product management experience in the medical imaging industry is highly desirable.

  • Experience with Computer Aided Detection/Diagnosis or AI-enabled solutions is highly desirable.

  • Experience with radiology workflow and reading solutions is highly desirable.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Understanding of clinical workflows in radiology

  • International market understanding and experience is a plus

  • Understanding and managing skills for the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to release and maintenance

  • Must be able to achieve results in a cross-functional team environment, exhibiting formal and informal leadership skills and strong goal / results orientation

  • Proven track record of results, either contributing to or directly, developing, driving and maintaining high performing product lines, cutting edge strategies and strong market presence

  • Ability to travel internationally
