Job Description:

Primary Investment Officer responsible for investment activities for:

  • Investments and operations of Siemens US andPuerto Rico Defined Contribution Plans (Siemens Savings Plan or “SSP”)

  • Canadian benefit Plans investments

  • Equity related investment manager oversight

  • Facilitator of Merger & Acquisitions

For All Plans: Assess strategies and opportunities to enhance benefit plans’ investment performance, risk profile, reporting, and operations. Adhere to the Siemens Corporate Pension Policy.

For US/PR DC plans:

  • Oversee all operations related to theSSP including:·

  • Periodically review the SSP investment optionline-up and make recommendations for changes as warranted

  • Oversee implementation of SSP manager changes

  • Identify and manage all potential investmentrisks related to the operation of the DC plan.

  • Ensure liquidity portfolios for all SSP fundoptions are compliant with IC guidelines; direct rebalancing activities whennecessary

  • Oversee the production of the quarterly publicationof the Investment Option Fact Sheets.

  • Lead investment related participantcommunication for SSP investments in conjunction with HR and Legal Departmentsincluding participant queries, summary plan descriptions, enrollment materialsetc.

  • Oversee reporting and recommendations to the USInvestment Committee on all aspects of the SSP.

  • Acquisitions and divestiture activity:Participate in the activities of DC bound/exiting plan assets involved inacquisitions and divestitures.

  • Key internal Relationships: HR, Legal, Benefits,Accounting, Investment Committee, SFS PEN.

  • Key External Relationships: SSP Recordkeeper,trustee/custodian, investment managers, investment consultant.

For Canadian Plans:

  • ·Monitor investment strategies for all benefitplan investments.

  • ·Assess strategies and opportunities to enhanceplan performance, risk profile, and operations.

  • ·Organize, prepare and present investment relatedtopics at the Canadian Pension Committee meetings.

  • ·Implement all approved investment relatedactions.

  • ·Direct the activities of the investmentconsultant for the Canadian plans.

  • ·Primary interface with Canadian Plans’investment related vendors:Recommendand implement the hiring and termination of investment managers, trustees, andconsultants based on performance analysis, fees and meetings.

  • ·Align with the Director of North AmericanBenefits Accounting to ensure proper accounting for all plan activities.

  • ·Participate in acquisitions and divestureactivity involving inbound/outbound plan assets.

  • ·Collaborate with Siemens Canada HR on benefitrelated projects as needed.

  • ·Key Internal Relationships:: HR, Legal, BenefitsAccounting, Pension Committees.

  • ·Key External Relationships: trustees/custodians,investment managers, actuaries

Equity Responsibility

  • ·Primary contact for US Plans’ Equity Managers.

  • ·With the investment consultant, lead theprocesses of hiring, monitoring and terminating equity investment managers forDB and DC plans.

  • ·Responsible for conducting or directingnegotiations for IMAs, guidelines and fees for equity manager mandates.

  • ·Report on equity investment managers to theInvestment Committee, identify equity managers for additions to Watch List.

  • ·Attend and document meetings and relatedactivity with US Plans’ equity investment managers.

  • ·Identify and understand investment risks relatedto equity portfolios.

  • ·Advise DB Plans’ Officer related to equitymanagers in the DB Plan.

Qualifications (includes education):

  • Minimum 15 years experience

  • Strong analytic skills

  • MBA,CFA

  • Strong network of plan sponsors and industryrelated contacts

  • Up to date on current trends in definedcontribution plan investment strategies

  • Deep knowledge of equity strategies andportfolios

  • Technical knowledge of the financial markets

  • Attention to detail

  • Very strong communications skills: verbal andwriting

  • Ability to lead and manage multi-facetedprojects

  • Facilitates others’ knowledge and aware ofissues

  • Knowledge of Canadian retirement plans is a plus

  • Willingness to travel
