Are you ready to design/develop gas chromatography analyses on a process gas chromatograph? Siemens Industry, Inc's Analytical Products and Solutions Business Unit has an immediate opening for a senior level Analytical Methods Development chemist for the Houston, TX facility. The successful candidate will possess, as a minimum, the requirements listed below in the Knowledge/Skills section which are necessary to provide process gas chromatographic solutions to meet customer requirements as well as be comfortable in working in a team environment.
In this role, the successful candidate will apply themselves to define the analytical hardware and operating conditions required to accomplish complex customer requested analyses through gas chromatographic methodologies such as parallel chromatography. The chemist will work with team engineers to develop production drawings as well as develop new analytical methods as needed. Method development will consist of in part, determining appropriate gas chromatographic column combinations while optimizing parameters such as carrier flows and application temperatures through experimentation.
As a senior level chemist, support of Sales and Marketing through developing new supportive applications such as those required for environmental compliance will also be part of this position’s scope in addition to mentoring manufacturing technicians performing full product testing.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education,and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, ACSaccredited
Core experiences with analyticalchemistry
5-8+yrs experience ofdemonstrated proficiency with gas and/or liquid chromatography methoddevelopment
Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
Effective communication skills including technical writing
Strong technical skills

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education,and Experience
5-8+yrs experience of demonstrated proficiency with multidimensionalchromatography theory and method development implementation
Hands-on experience with Process GasChromatographs (PGC)
Experience with Visual Basic (orequivalent) and database concepts
Familiarity with SAP
