The MindSphere presales team—the technical arm of the Siemens MindSphere sales organization in North America—is growing and has open positions for talented individuals looking to join our team. Do you love using cool technology to solve valuable problems? Our team wants to know more about you.
We are a dynamic and growing group of specialists responsible for all technical aspects of the MindSphere sales cycle. We work closely with account executives to develop account strategy and orchestrate the technical sales process from evaluation of customer requirements through planning and delivery of any required demos and/or proofs of concept.

When you join the team, you will develop a keen understanding of the MindSphere platform, including the overall value proposition and the technology which underpins it. You will be responsible to clearly articulate the MindSphere architecture and value proposition to a variety of audiences ranging from highly technical to completely general. As opportunities progress through the sales cycle, you will ensure that the solution meets all customer technical requirements, and the team addresses any customer concerns.
In this role you will:
Elucidate and document customer challenges (both technical and business) and goals.
Scope, plan and execute demos and proofs-of-concept as required to ensure prospects clearly understand the value which can be generated by the MindSphere platform in their organization.
Build relationships as a trusted advisor to technical stakeholders including developers, DevOps, IT staff, support, services, etc.
Understand and sell solutions to address high level business problems, which incorporate our technology. In many cases, this will involve engaging with large, multi-divisional businesses.
Partner with the account team to craft compelling business cases which highlight the value of the Siemens solution.
Understand the competition and use knowledge to effectively position Siemens MindSphere to win.
Operate under minimal supervision with wide latitude for independent decision-making.
You should have about 5 years of experience in a technical sales role such as presales, solution consulting or sales engineering. You'll have a pattern of over-achievement, have great interpersonal skills and love and excel at establishing and fostering relationships. We're looking for a natural communicator who has an engaging presentation style and writes crisply and concisely.
You are passionate about technology and have a broad familiarity with several technologies and expertise in a subset of those. Areas of particular interest would include:
Factory Automation (e.g. SCADA, PLC Programming, CNC) and Industrial Networking
Application Development Languages (e.g. Java, C/C++)
Cloud Development technologies, languages and frameworks (e.g. Node.js Cloud Foundry, etc)
Data Management (e.g. SQL, NoSQL, ETL platforms)
Cloud Platforms such as AWS or Azure
Business Analytics, Analytics / Machine Learning tools such as R, SAS, Tableau, or scikit-learn.
We don't expect anyone to be an authority in (or even familiarity with) all these disparate technologies, and team members strong in one area will help develop those skills across the team.
You should expect to work independently at times, but always in the context of a supportive team who can provide assistance and expertise outside the skills you bring to the team.
This position requires time spent building relationships with key people at our customers and prospects, so you should be available to travel up to 50%.
Our team members typically have a 4 year college degree or equivalent work experience, and graduate degrees and coursework are valued. Hands-on experience with any of the following will be very valuable:
Analytics and machine learning
Internet of Things
Enterprise software sales experience into large strategic accounts up through the CxO level is helpful.
