Job Description:

Position Overview

Assemble and test medical assemblies using drawings, procedures and test fixtures.

Person will be evaluated by standard times and quality of work for annual performance rating and increases.

This is an assembly/test position in the manufacturing area at Hoffman Estates, IL. This is a first shift opportunity working with NaI Crystal assemblies. Ability to lift 50 LBS several times per shift. Crop, Slice, Size, Mill, and assemble large Nal Scintillation Crystals. Proper use and ability to read precision measuring instruments is required. Additional requirements may include polishing, gelling, cleaning, applying Teflon, and canning.


Person will need to assemble major assemblies using drawings and procedures. They also will need to test assemblies when complete and document results.

Person will also be responsible for inventory in area and help cycle count to verify accuracy of department parts.

Need to read drawings and procedures to assemble parts.

Need to use computer to test assemblies.

Need to use computer to document assembly and test results.

Need to help with inventory in area.


Knowledge of hand tools, torque wrench, micrometer and computer skills.

No travel is required for job position. Previous working experience in a manufacturing environment will be given preference. Qualified candidate will have 1-5 years working in manufacturing environment. Will have held responsibilities that include; maintaining area cleanliness, proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, good Record keeping and documentation skills, direct experience working with fragile products. Specific crystal handling experience will be given preference.

One who is a self-starter and an ability to work independently is essential.

A desire to achieve the highest Quality possible is vital for this position.

Ability to work some off hours, weekends and holidays may be required.


At least one year of manufacturing experience either assembly or test.

Computer knowledge (for testing and documenting).
