Job Description:

Position Overview

Key contributor in managing the life cycle progression of the company’s products. Assist R&D in the development of new products, insuring the design adheres to company specifications while complying with industry best practices and legislated regulations. Assist Procurement and Supply Chain Management in selecting the manufacturing site for new products based on supplier capabilities and performance, cost, logistics and technology. Responsible for the introduction and ramp-up of new products into production insuring the selected manufacturer has the required tools, fixtures, test equipment and is materialized in accordance with the roll-out schedule. At a product’s end of life, manages the phase out of production coordinating with the manufacturer's raw material inventories and usage, last batch or last order processing, liquidation of internal and external tooling


Supports R&D in designing products that are optimized for manufacturability and testability while meeting quality specifications, technology roadmap, and cost targets.

Reviews and approves both high level and detailed level design documents.

Manages the introduction of new products into manufacturing whether in-house or at third party contract manufacturers. Insures tooling, fixtures, and test equipment are available in support of the product introduction and in compliance with the product roll-out schedule.

Supports Business Development and Supply Chain Management in the phasing out of products insuring minimal exposure to obsolescence and stranded inventory expense while maintaining product available in alignment with the phase-out schedule.

Analyze and align supplier and/or manufacturing situation with phase-out schedule and demand for in-house products, trade goods, and 3 rd party products (frame agreement, purchase commitment for components and raw materials, obsolete components, production equipment, and external tooling).

Contributes to budget development, and insures adherence to agreed budgets.

Performs inspections, investigations, audits, and analyzes technical manufacturing and logistics capabilities.

Liaises with other engineering disciplines, quality assurance, supply chain management, external vendors and constantly monitors and approves respective services and work deliverables.

Completes and communicates deficiency and status reports regarding material, equipment, and product availability.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

BS/BA in related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, methods and technology utilized in the production of electronic and electro-mechanical products.

Familiarity with IPC quality standards for electronic assemblies as well as RoHS and REACH specifications.

Demonstrates an intermediate level of skill in effectively using Microsoft Office Applications including Excel, Word, Power Point and Project.

Experience with SAP and AutoCad or Solid Works CAD applications is preferred but not essential.

Effective communication skills. Ability to present clear and concise information and to tailor information to the needs of the audience.

Ability to communicate in and comprehend both written and spoken English language for the purpose of understanding training/direction, generate and interpret documentation and effectively communicate with domestic and international business associates.

Ability to function and contribute in a team environment.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Ability to travel both domestic and international.

Typically 3-5 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, methods and technology utilized in the production of electronic and electro-mechanical products.

Experience with new product introductions into manufacturing including in-house and third party manufacturing operations.

Experience within the electronics industry
