This position can also be located at our Tarrytown,NY facility as well as Flanders,NJ.

This position is for a technical writer supporting the User Interaction Design department. Candidates must have strong verbal and written communication skills to develop and maintain systems and software product labeling instructions for use, including user manuals, online help, test definitions, and other technical publications. Experience with FrameMaker or XML authoring tools is required. The candidate must be detail-oriented and self-sufficient to produce deliverables using documentation plans, specifications, and markups, and must be comfortable managing multiple projects concurrently. Some basic project management knowledge and skills is a plus.

Responsibilities and Knowledge

This individual will complete all phases of the documentation development cycle, including confirming document scope and requirements, managing technical reviews and translation proofing, and releasing deliverables through documentation control systems. This individual should have a good understanding of regulated industry practices, and experience with managing cross-functional reviews on content. Experience working with translation vendors for the localization of content a plus. Knowledge of immunoassay or chemistry diagnostic systems is a strong plus.

Experience and Education

Typically 5 years of technical writing experience in a related field and successful demonstration of Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above. This candidate should have a BS/BA in a related discipline or an advanced degree.
