We are looking for a procurement specialist level 2 to join our busy and expanding team. A Procurement Specialist level 2, is an individual who has strong purchasing experience and is an accomplished supplier manager. A person qualified for this role will typically have approximately 5 years or more experience within the purchasing environment or a supplier related materials function.
Within the department, there is a high focus on implementing modern materials management systems, supplier development programs. Our operating system is SAP and we utilize a number of materials management techniques such as Supplier Workplace and E Kanban. Experience within these areas will definitely strengthen the candidate application.
This role would particularly suit an experienced buyer with a desire to manage their own portfolio of suppliers and implement advance management and delivery techniques. This role is more than an order placement function, we are looking for individuals with real purchasing talent who understand the true meaning of Supplier Management.
The individual will be able develop their suppliers, work with strategic procurement and logistics teams to ensure we are aligned commercially and are managing the incoming materials efficiently. The individual will also take the lead for their suppliers and drive and peer organizations such as Supplier Quality Management and Inventory Management to develop a world class supply base and materials chain in to the organization.
Successful applicants will have:
5 years plus experience in a purchasing, materials or supplier management areas.
Professional procurement or materials certification is preferred
Degree level or equivalent qualifications
An understanding of electro mechanical and or fluidic systems
Experience of complex hardware manufacturing in low to mid volume environments
Ability to manage the efficient supply of specialist and custom design components
A team player that can take the lead and guide peer departments and functions
