Reporting to the Vice President Field Finance, this position leads, manages, and oversees finance, accounting and business administration activities within the Zone for all Siemens Building Technologies (SBT) business. Acts as commercial partner to the Zone Manager, and assumes responsibility for Zone financial performance. In conjunction with Divisions, leads evaluation of current and proposed financial plans and change recommendations to positively impact Zone profitability. Ensures that financial and operations reports accurately reflect the condition of zone business and provides reliable information necessary to advise management and control the business. Provides central accounting support functions to Branches. Ensures and enforces effective internal controls, policies and procedures exist in compliance with GAAP and other federal, state and local requirements, professional standards and company policies.
Drives, implements and monitors – in cooperation with Zone/Branch Manager – productivity initiatives to further improve profitability and competiveness. Leads the planning and coordination of all Zone related financial activities to drive operational excellence and customer satisfaction including operating results analysis, short and long-range forecasts, and annual business plan activities.
Specific functions managed will include finance, accounting, contract administration, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, inventory, and all related teams/personnel in these functions within the Zone. In addition to Zone management responsibilities, this position will also have specific Branch management responsibilities for the Branch in which they are based.
Directs financial reporting and analysis including preparation of performance reports for local, field, and divisional management. Monitors operating expense controls and makes recommendations to ensure achievement of cost-savings and continuous improvement measures. Directs mitigation plans for risks, inconsistencies and fraud evidence. Ensures adequate coverage for divisional and sub-divisional interactions to optimize effectiveness of information sharing ultimately increasing transparency. Ensures adequate support to Branch as related to financial reporting and analysis enabling Branch Finance and Business Administration Manager to take appropriate actions to increase Branch profitability.
Is responsible for conformance to workflow standards. Ensures adequate training for the team to ensure standard tools, policies and procedures are in place. Monitors Zone performance and conformance indicators and identifies areas of non-conformance. Follows up on assessment recommendations and directs appropriate actions leading to conformance. Ensure all internal and external compliances guidelines and workflow procedures are followed and executed in order to minimize business risk to the organization
Builds and maintains a Zone FBA team committed to customer and employee satisfaction and profitable growth within the Zone. Ensures Zone FBA team’s accountability and employee development through the ongoing Siemens Performance Management Process (PMP). Engages and motivates Zone and Branch teams’ focus on goals and objectives achievement. Will work through appropriate Human Resource and company channels to provide the tools, training, and work environment that are necessary for Zone employees to be successful.
May participate in special projects related to either the local business or in support of field or home office initiatives. Acts as company representative and liaison to customers and local authorities to foster successful relationships and positive SBT image.
Reviews and has signature authority for contracts, purchase orders and change orders related to all aspects of the business. Assists Zone Sales Organization in securing sales by providing financial analysis and advice on projects in the funnel. May on occasion be involved in negotiations with the customer. Supports the Operations Team by providing financial modeling which positively impacts profitability. Leads or participates in resolution of highly complex situations related to projects, customers, or the Zone.
Ensures and enforces effective internal controls, policies, and procedures in compliance with GAAP and other federal, state, and local requirements, professional standards, and company policies. Provides or directs to appropriate financial training to sales, operations, and financial teams in the Zone to ensure their understanding of policies and procedures impacting integrity of the P&L and Balance Sheet.
Manages 5+ direct employees (Zone Controller, Financial Analysts, Commercial Project Managers)
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Education:
Required education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
Required travel: 50%
Required experience: 10+ years of broad Accounting/ Finance experience (managing a P&L of approximately $200M) with 3+ years in a managerial role; experience will include a history of taking on ever increasing levels of responsibility and is able to demonstrate ability to act independently.
Strong financial, leadership, interpersonal, analytical and computer skills required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Education:
Preferred education: MBA /CPA strongly preferred.
Experience working with SAP.
Experience working for a construction company/in the construction industry.
