Job Description:

Overview

This position is a newly created role aimed at the definition, configuration and implementation of an on-line availability of a CAD/CAM software solution to facilitate pre-release review and testing by remote (on-line) users.

Job Description

The role requires experience in the IT systems and the technology used to implement and support large engineering software solutions (CAD/CAM), ideally combined with knowledge of the techniques used to host large software applications on remote servers. The task will require hands-on approach to implementing and testing various system configuations. Although the position is attached to the Manufacturing Software Group a key aspect of the role will involve coordinating with staff from similar application and customer support groups within Siemens PLM Software to ensure that a common approach and resources are adopted for similar on-line solution objectives.

The role is expected to develop over time as the level of on-line (cloud) usage develops from test and validation tasks to a wider range of full production use. The initial work will have a focus on the definition of the on-line system, with consideration, evaluation and recommendations in respect of alternative solution options where these exist. Once the on-line systems are operational, the remote users will include comercial end customers of Siemens PLM Software and thus a highly professional approach to the presentation of the solution in an on-line context is important. Over time the role will include a higher proportion of system oversight and management.

Requirements

•Candidates should have at least two years of engineering IT system administration role, ideally supporting the implementation and use of large CAD/CAM applications in working environment.

•Knowledge of the technology and system used to implement and support cloud based applications is desirable. The ability to work efficiently with a range of IT computing systems is important.

• 2 years’ experience of implementing and supporting cloud based applications including working, monitoring and reporting systems
