Materials Manager

The Materials Manager leads the procurement, materials, and inventory control functions for ITESA SIEMENS organization. This position is responsible for managing our supply chain by building and maintaining partnerships with commodity managers, S&OP, Distribution Centers, and suppliers Additionally, this role is the main point of contact for inventory availability and control; leads cycle-counts and physical inventory; and manages the logistics to ensure timely delivery of products.

The Materials Manager analyzes and reacts to improve overall productivity of supply and responsible for cost reduction with respect to cost of goods sold and services rendered. This role collaborates with the engineering, sales, operations, and accounting teams frequently.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Ensure the consistent and adequate supply of product necessary for the business, based on lead times and sales forecasts.

· Correspond and communicate with suppliers for any updates regarding orders and/or products.

· Collaborate with engineering to ensure product meets specifications and quality standards.

· Develop and maintain long-term strategic partnerships with suppliers and partners.

· Lead Weekly Production meeting to review all incoming shipments and product needs.

· Monitor and maintain acceptable inventory business wide.

· Coordinates and manages physical cycle counts and annual physical inventory.

· Collaborate with operations and sales teams to research and identify inventory discrepancies, in a timely manner.

· Thorough understanding of purchasing, warehousing, and inventory control

· Ability to enter data accurately and efficiently into SAP system.

· Ability to work effectively with others and be participative as a team player.

· Must have excellent attention to detail.

· Must demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

· Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, industrial engineering, or a related field

· 7+ years of experience in supply chain management, purchasing, inventory control, or a related field.

· Automotive/Metal Mechanic industry experience preferred.

· SAP experience.
