Job Description:

Position Overview

Are you ready to lead a team ofhighly motivated and talented building technology engineers, building the cloudapplications that will help to efficiently operate buildings, reduce energyconsumption and provide analytics to proactively service building equipment?

  • You will lead a highly motivated, agile team thatdevelops cloud applications that extend the Building Automation portfolio.

  • You are responsible to lead a growing team of 15-20engineers responsible for software architecture, software development andtest as well as project leadership.

  • You will part of a team of like-mindedleaders responsible for a variety of software products in Siemens BuildingTechnologies’new Software Hub in downtown Chicago.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for team performance, development andmanagementofinternal resources as well as contingency labor

  • Act as a role model and evangelist for modern softwaredevelopment practices

  • Develop and mentor team members to grow stronger andmore efficient teams and identify future leaders

  • Collaborate with local and global partners and peers tocreate transparency, establish direction and generate customer value

  • Identify improvement needs, develop improvement plansand deliver within committed schedules

  • Responsibleforexecutingfunctional department strategy in collaboration with leads from otherteams to support realization of business strategy

Required Knowledge/Skills,Education, and Experience

  • Preferablyadvanced degree in ComputerScience or related field of study

  • 5-8 years experience in software development,preferably with background in cloud development

  • 3-5 years experience in leading teams in a managerialcapacity

  • 3-5 years experience with agile software development

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Experience working with teams from different culturesand backgrounds

  • Travel required for 5% of time for alignment withglobal partners

Preferred Knowledge/Skills,Education, and Experience

  • Proven experience with user-centered design andusability

  • Proven experience with cybersecurity,especially in cloud environments

  • Backgroundin building automation domainpreferred

  • Hands-onexperience with SAFe and/or lean development practicespreferred

  • Proven skills using Jazz platform, Git, hands-onknowledge in any cloud development platform
