Job Description:

Position Overview

Siemens offers a comprehensive portfolio of seamlessly integrated

software products to support full life-cycle digital design and

manufacturing. This position contributes to the development of

MindSphere, a cloud based IOT platform and application suite.

You will be part of a highly innovative fast-paced development team,

incorporating and inventing emerging software technologies to deliver

amazing IOT products to the market.

As a high-performing manager of a team of software engineers, you will

be expected to hire, train, utilize, grow, and mentor team members;to

continuously improve the productivity of the work environment; to break

down barriers; and to generally do whatever it takes to ensure team

success.

The position reports to the MindSphere IOT Services Director of

Development.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team, including personnel activities of staff (i.e. hire,

train, appraise, reward, motivate, discipline)

• Work with the team and the broader organization to continuously

improve productivity, process, and tools

• Champion a high-quality culture and ensure quality is monitored and

plans are in place to improve when necessary

• Champion an ownership culture which ensures high-availability of

services and happy customers

• Promote innovation in both product and process

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree – Computer Science, Engineering, or other

supplemented with real world programming experience

• Software Development Experience – 7+ years

• Software Management Experience – 3+ years

• Backend Web/Cloud Java Development Experience – 2+ years

• Experience developing microservices using Spring

• Experience with DevOps CICD approaches

• Agile Scrum Process Experience – 3+ years (Scrum Master 1+ year)

• Able to work well in a team environment

• Self-Directed, High Energy

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

• Experience building solutions on AWS platform

• Experience working with database technology (SQL and noSQL)

• Experience with TDD and excellent understanding of automated testing

approaches

• Experience in IOT and big data & analytics

• Experience in Manufacturing or Energy domains

• Experience with OpenSource or Inner Source techniques

• Bring something special to the team
