This position is open to qualified candidates based in the Charleston/Huntington, West Virginia areas.
The Technical Application Specialist (primarily Chemistry and Immunoassay products) will solve problems independently and within established policies and procedures. Their primary objective is “to do what it takes” to ensure customer satisfaction in the clinical laboratories.
MEDICAL TECHNOLOGISTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY.
Responsible for timely system implementation, training and assay additions. The TAS is responsible for managing their customer base and growing the business for the territory. This position is responsible for the orchestration of implementation plans with customers for new instruments and assays. Facilitate training rotations and schedules within the lab to insure cross training for all operators on all shifts. Develop timeline for acquiring samples, implementing assays and start up strategies within defined guidelines. Present an Add Assay business strategy to the customer. Assist in facilitating the proper customer support for technical issues.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification may be required in some areas. Must have a clean driving record over last three years.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience, Requirements include:
BA/BS preferably in Medical Technology; thorough technical knowledge of medical technology; 7+ years of laboratory experience; prior field experience is preferred; strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively handle customer problems and support the sales team’s efforts; ability to prioritize critical customers and handle the crisis customers first; computer literacy is mandatory (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc.); strong presentation and selling skills; must be completely aligned with the corporate Vision, Values and Beliefs; job requires a large amount of driving within the region; must have a clean driving record over last three years.
