Job Description:

Basic Function

Responsibilities include working with sales, other energy engineers, and project managers to develop cost-effective performance based contracts for targeted clients.

Essential Duties

Associate Energy Engineer

Work under the supervision of a Senior Energy Engineer to perform the following functions:

Perform Utility Data Analysis by entering utility billing information, understanding the information contained on the bills, and having the ability to analyze this information vs. accepted standards.

Perform preliminary and detailed facility audits to identify facility improvement measures (FIMs). Participate in facility site visits using observational skills to collect required data to perform engineering calculations. Analyzes blue prints in conjunction with site surveys to identify mechanical, electrical, and control systems and determine facility operational characteristics and potential FIMs to be investigated.

Install metering equipment to gather true equipment usage information when necessary.

Perform basic energy savings calculations,making educated assumptions when applicable and using / interpreting data gathered from the field to estimate savings.

Has the ability to present design concepts to others for budget pricing development.

Develops design concepts and other written technical documentation to sales, management, and funding agency’s concerning recommended FIMs, including accurate descriptions, savings potential, and back up data to verify FIMs.

Prepares the application for governmental incentive funds, coordinates with associated consultants, and develops all documentation for final incentive collection.

Assist in the development of preliminary and final performance contracting proposals.

Assist in the development of performance contracting contracts utilizing standard templates incorporating FIM’s selected.

Assist in developing performance assurance plans for the ongoing support of projects.

Strong working knowledge in MS Excel required.

Education/Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other related field.Masters degree preferred.

Experience in Energy – 2 years

Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification required or ability to obtain.
