What do you contribute?

The rapid increase in urbanization worldwide is increasing the demand for more efficient and more powerful rail connections. Our business unit plans and implements complex Turnkey projects all over the world. In your role, you will manage bids with high complexity and volume and thus make an important contribution to the success of the business.

  • Lead commercial bid management for major railway projects (> €100M) at Siemens Mobility, ensuring submission of competitive bids and focusing on optimal solutions.

  • Functionally lead a cross-Business Unit and cross-organizational commercial team, while ensuring the timely completion of the bids.

  • Consolidate calculation inputs and clarify overall cost elements on behalf of the Siemens Mobility team, ensuring entrepreneurial success.

  • Analyze turnkey tenders, identify project risks, and integrate them into bid submissions.

  • Ensure consistency in bid documents and calculations considering bid strategy and contract analysis, participating in contract negotiations lead by the Commercial Bid Director.

  • Develop optimal business models and contract structures regarding competitiveness & risk allocation considering relevant tax regulations.

  • Ensure that the relevant Siemens Project Management Standards and Management Approval processes are being followed and all calculation guidelines are considered.

What do you bring along?

  • University degree in business administration, finance or similar or equivalent.

  • Extensive project management experience, preferably in sales/bids and railway project execution.

  • Knowledge of the commercial tools and methodologies relevant for sales and bidding, in particular setting up calculations, risk management and project management.

  • Experienced with international complex tender and contract documents, adept at structuring bid preparation accordingly.

  • Flexibility and resilience in constantly evolving environments, focusing on solutions for internal/external partners and Siemens Mobility management.

  • Familiar with scope management tools (Work Breakdown Structure, Division of Responsibility) for ensuring calculation consistency and completeness, and can anticipate/mitigate project risks.

  • Knowledgeable about leadership methodologies such as motivation, team development, conflict management, and decision-making, applying them successfully.

  • Fluent in English and experienced in working within intercultural teams.
