Job Description

Job Title : Equipment Design Engineer Expert

Main task:

Plans and designs specifications for manufacturing systems with high complexity (incl. Hardware and software) to achieve optimal solution from a holistic perspective.

• Analyzes product specifications and clarifies product requirements and manufacturing aspects with accountable R&D, Engineering and/or Product Management.

• Develops concepts for manufacturing equipment and thinks of alternatives with new technologies.

• Is responsible for the cost of the designed equipment and the scheduled delivery date.

• Systematic development of equipment design based on existing rules and standards.

• May accompanies or contributes to testing and approval of pre-series results, and cooperates with external providers in settling any issues.

• Plans and is responsible for the ramp up of equipment to achieve output and quality as planned.

• Plans and supports for digitalization topics and Technology upgradations.

• Evaluates and approves suitable suppliers and service providers for hardware and software equipment, in cooperation with Siemens Purchasing.

• Leads internal cross functional projects as project manager

• Supports production departments in case of unsolved effects based on concurrence of material characteristics, product needs, process effects, equipment influences and tool design.

• Runs test sequences in his technology aligned with the expert in process technology.

• Supports generation of new knowledge about the affected production technology.

• Responsible for end-to-end delivery of the project from requirements gathering, design, development, testing, workplace release and post implementation support

• Develop a detailed plan to monitor and track the progress of the project.

• Perform risk management analysis to reduce project risks

• Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status

• Maintain documentations for equipment building, trails, release, installation, maintenance and troubleshooting procedures for reference purposes.

• Perform equipment upgrades as per customer requirements.

Competence & Knowledge Required:

• Should have minimum 9–12-year experience of equipment building process mainly in automation (SPM’s). Experience as a team lead, with at least 5-10 reportees.

• Knowledge of new technologies in manufacturing process (Machine learning, IoT, Robotics, cloud computing)

• Advance experience in Siemens PLC programming using TIA portal and drive configuration.

• Experience with vision systems from reputed brands like Cognex, Keyence, Omron will be added advantage.

• Should have knowledge of different processes of Welding, Laser, Thermal testing, Magnetic testing, deflashing, moulding.

• Good understanding and knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial automation systems.

• CAD (AutoCAD, Solid Edge , Creo) - 2D&3D.

• CE-Marking and design standards.

• Analytical Thinking & Problem Solving.

• Efficient working methods.

• English.

• Design and manufacturing standards and requirements.

• Problem solving methods.

Education Qualification:

BE/Diploma - Mechanical / Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation
