Siemens US Talent Acquisition
Solutions Operation and Engineering Center (SLN OEC) is responsible for the implementation of large projects for the Marine, Mining, Fiber and Oil & Gas industries. We are currently looking for a Project Manager to support our varied project portfolio, with a focus on Marine projects.
The Project Manager (PM) is expected to be a conscientious self-starter who will have the primary responsibility for the commercial and technical implementation of the project. The OEC’s goal is to complete projects with a satisfied customer, on-time and on-budget. The PM will lead a team of various technical and industry engineers to implement the project. This will include development and oversight of scheduling, budgets, risk management, change management, and resource management activities. The PM is expected to cultivate strong working client relationships.
The PM represents the company as the main point of contact for the customer, subcontractors and site trades.This includes communicating in a professional manner both verbally and in writing.
Understand the contract deliverables and develop necessary schedule and plans for delivering them.
Responsible for the project financials, including project billing schedule.
Maintain project Change Orders and Request for Information Logs.
Identify potential problems and proactively address.
Develop cohesive and effective project teams (typically 4 – 8 people) while working in a matrix organization.May have 3-5 projects running simultaneously.
Support of project proposal efforts.This includes identifying deliverables and commercial issues by reviewing RFP / contract specifications, and working with the engineering team on a cost effective execution model.
BS in Electrical Engineering or Marine or equivalent required
Minimum five years as a Project Manager in an industrial environment (ex. power infrastructure, drives/motors, process automation).
Siemens internal candidates are to be PM@Siemens PM Certified
Site commissioning experience required.
Travel approximately 25%as required for projects.
Must understand and be able to discuss project schedules.This includes being proficient in the use of MS Project.
Must be proficient in Excel, Word and Power Point
Must be able to discuss project financials in detail
Be able to discuss confrontational issues (ex. claims, delays, etc) with customer.
Have a working knowledge of construction law.
PMI PMP Certification preferred
Preference will be given to people with a Navy background
Experience with government contracting
