Specific Requirements: In addition to account manager responsibilities described below. this position also includes a team lead role of providing guidance and coaching to other TIP team members as well as a compensation component in addition to commission tied to the overall success of sales in Siemens Totally Integrated Power portfolio. This position is a dotted line role to the Regional Sales Director in their role of Team Lead. This ideal candidate will have the ability to lead through influence and balance leadership and assigned account management responsibilities

Candidates will need to be in the Portland, Oregon metro area.

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Self Driven Personality & Relationship Builder

  • 10+ years of successful sales or application engineering roles in the Industrial Automation, Electronic, or Industrial electrical distribution.

  • A strong power systems and distribution background is a plus

  • Experience selling to large end user industrial customers for very large CAPEX Project in collaborative team environments

  • Understanding of a wide variety of applications when selling to electrical contractors, OEM's, and end-users.

Job Family Responsibilities:

  • Ability to develop and implement plans for strategic accounts that exceed expectations in revenue retention/growth, account profitability, and customer satisfaction/loyalty.

  • Pursues long-term account strategy that maximizes profits.

  • Cultivates long-term relationships with the appropriate key account decision makers.

  • Develops a complete understanding of the organizations structure and key buying influences of assigned account.

  • Performs client presentations articulating the value proposition of product / solution / service offerings.

  • Provides management with suggestions for improving volume, market share and price levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs full range of standard work for the professional field.

  • Champions complex or unusual customer needs to others while maintaining the action to deliver results to the customer.

  • Identifies and resolves more complex problems and applies problem-solving skills in order to deal with most situations.

Provides leadership and coaching to all TIP sales team members


Typically BS/BA in related discipline or advanced degree.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Demonstrates and applies a broad knowledge of field of specialization through successful completion of moderately complex assignments.

  • Successfully applies complex knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of organizations business practices and issues.

  • Typically 5-8 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above.

-Advanced degree MAY be substituted for experience, where applicable.

Guides unit to achieve business objectives at key accounts (for example, penetration of account with product/solution/service offerings). May identify, develop and manage channel partners to achieve channel goals. Leverages Siemens global reach to influence decisions on projects for delivery to the customer in the US, or purchased by the customer in the US. Guides the development and execution of strategic account plans to ensure achievement of assigned business goals. Develops / builds / cultivates long-term relationships with key management within the customer organization. Assists management in devising sales plans and strategies. May develop forecasts, budgets and operating plans for sales channels. May form account teams and coordinate team activities while minimizing sales and marketing costs and maximizing sales. May lead team reviews and updates of account plan based on changing market, customer conditions, and competitive activity. Responsibilities :Performs advanced areas of work for the professional field. Applies advanced skills to resolve complex problems not covered by existing procedures or practices independently. Displays a high level of critical thinking in bringing successful resolution to high-impact, complex, and/or cross-functional problems. Education:Typically BS/BA in related discipline or advanced degree. Certification may be required in some areas. Knowledge and Experience:Demonstrates and applies comprehensive knowledge of field of specialization to the successful completion of complex assignments. Demonstrates advanced knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization. Demonstrates significant knowledge of organizations business practices and issues faced and contributes to problem resolution of those issues. Typically 8-10 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above. Advanced degree MAY be substituted for experience, where applicable. Direction of Others: Provides specialized guidance or train support and/or professional staff. Leadership qualities and role model qualities demonstrated. Key Working Relationships: Primarily intra-organizational contacts and external contacts.
