Job Description:

Position Overview:

The ideal candidate for this position has worked in a factory or in the Manufacturing Industry.

This position will serve as a team lead with one or two lower level staff indirectly being managed. In addition, this position will be responsible for developing new analytical charts and presentations, attending and presenting analyses at executive and staff meetings as requested, and demonstrating a shop floor presence in developing a keen focus on cost drivers and cost reduction aspects. Position will also be active in forecasting, focused on project cost review aspects, and working with process engineering on routing cost and BOM changes. Knowledge of job-order cost accounting principles needed.

Responsibilities include : lead cost accounting field of the Hamilton, NJ manufacturing facility, closely monitor actual cost per hour in various cost centers, monitor non- conformance costs and partner with operations towards brining non- conformance costs down , assist operations in make versus buy decisions, complete margin analysis, cycle counting and physical inventory analysis, coordinate month end closing tasks with the team.

Auxiliary functions include supporting cost center variance analysis, forecasting, month end and interim reporting, and general business support for steam turbines and compression business.

Strong cost accounting background is essential with proven experience in standards creation and inventory analysis. Previous experience in transfer price/cost establishment a plus.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience:

  • BS/BA in Accounting

  • 8 plus years of successful experience in cost accounting field

  • Must demonstrate solid cost accounting knowledge

  • Will need to be able to work with numerous managers and handle a variety of projects independently or with minimal supervision

  • Must be proficient in Excel at an advanced level. SAP experience preferred

  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, at month end and during the month

  • Flexibility to adapt in a fast paced changing environment with very demanding and changing deadlines, ability to successfully complete tasks as assigned, efficiently and within a reasonable amount of time

-Excellent communication & teamwork/networking skills

-This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail & accuracy. Must take ownership and responsibility for assigned tasks with demonstrated ability to learn tasks quickly

Preferred Education and Knowledge/Experience:

  • MBA preferred

-Strong working knowledge of MRP principles in a repair or manufacturing environment essential
