As a Senior Energy Engineer, you will:

  • Participate in pre-sale activities and work closely with sales and business development managers to identify and qualify customer opportunities. This will require coordination and understanding of sales funnel development and key criteria needed to qualify opportunities.

  • Perform Utility Data Analysis by entering utility billing information, understanding the information contained on the bills, and having the ability to analyze this information vs. accepted standards.

  • Perform preliminary and detailed facility audits to identify facility improvement measures (FIMs). Participate in facility site visits using observational skills to collect required data to perform engineering calculations. Analyzes blue prints in conjunction with site surveys to identify mechanical, electrical, and control systems and determine facility operational characteristics and potential FIMs to be investigated.

  • Install metering equipment to gather true equipment usage information when necessary.

  • Perform all basic and advanced energy savings calculations, making educated assumptions when applicable and using / interpreting data gathered from the field to estimate savings.

  • Understands and evaluates more complex energy opportunities such as supply side savings, unique energy sources, trash management, water conservation, and co-generation for inclusion into performance contracts.

  • Utilize building simulation programs to develop energy, cooling, and heating load-building models.

  • Independently coordinates and leads facility site visits and communicates with outside subcontractors as it pertains to FIM calculations and documentation.

  • Has the ability to present design concepts to others for guaranteed pricing development.

  • Develops design concepts and other written technical documentation to sales, management, and funding agency’s concerning recommended FIMs, including accurate descriptions, savings potential, and back up data to verify FIMs.

  • Prepares the application for governmental incentive funds, coordinates with associated consultants, and develops all documentation for final incentive collection.

  • Assist sales in the development of preliminary and final performance contracting proposals.

  • Participate in client meetings and presentations.

  • Develop performance contracting contracts utilizing standard templates incorporating FIM’s selected

  • Prepares financial models related to payment utilizing savings and costs determined, with an understanding of ROI, life cycle costing and internal rate of return.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other related field. Masters degree preferred.

  • Experience in Energy - 8 years

  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification required or ability to obtain.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred You’ll benefit from:

    • The pay range for this position is $95,400 to $128,800.
