We are looking for an ATS Design Engineer for the Engineering Department within the Mobility division.

Your Role – Impactful, Meaningful And Future-Oriented

  • Elaborates the customer project specific documentation, interfaces with other contractors or global Siemens teams for integration or services and keeps the customer abreast of the systems developments.

  • Design and perform the necessary integration tests and commission the ATS system.

  • Strong focus on cybersecurity, so the incumbent plans and performs security testing and provides support to the project’s team in cybersecurity topics.

  • Being the main interface to suppliers, partners and customers regarding IT/OT security topics, and follow up on Security Vulnerabilities and Incidents of the System/Project.

  • Bachelor Degree in IT or similar field.

  • You have more than 3 years of relevant work experience in a similar function.

  • Proficiency in English is essential, have the ability to write clear and comprehensive design documentation, articulate ideas effectively, and engage persuasively in meetings.

  • Spanish language knowledge will be valued (when liaising with Spanish stakeholders).

  • Ability and willingness to work under high workloads, including nights and weekends during testing and commissioning phase.

  • Security-related certifications are nice to have.

  • Railway systems and signalling knowledge, with specific experience in ATS systems for CBTC projects.

  • Experience in the design and commissioning phase of an ATS system.

  • Strong GNU/Linux skills.

  • Ability to answer questions in a clear and concise manner, including to articulate complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, both within customer and in Siemens teams.

  • General cybersecurity knowledge for IT and OT environments (cryptography, standards, utilities, …), with focus in the aspects covered by IEC 62443.

  • Knowledge of systems engineering, system administration, network and operating system hardening techniques.

  • Perform vulnerability assessments on OT environments. Penetration testing skills are nice to have.

  • Apply cybersecurity principles to organizational requirements (relevant to confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, non-repudiation).

  • Translate operational requirements into security controls.

  • Knowledge of network security architecture concepts including topology, protocols, components, and principles.
