Siemens Mobility provides efficient and coordinated transportation of people and goods by rail – including rolling stock, rail infrastructure, and service. Cities and Railroads also rely on us to provide traction-power substations and electricity transmission, as well as signaling and control technology for freight and passenger rail and transit systems.

We are seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Technician (Level 2) at our growing 2000+ employee Rolling Stock manufacturing facility in Sacramento, CA. This manufacturing facility produces locomotives and passenger rail cars used in numerous locations in the United States and Canada.

We are adding an experienced, advocate, and champion to our growing and expanding manufacturing campus in beautiful Sacramento, California. As our Environmental Health and Safety Technician, you will foster the process of developing, and implementing comprehensive programs crafted to prevent injuries and ensure compliance with all pertinent regulations through daily interaction with managers, supervisors, and employees. In this impactful and purposeful role, time and energy will be focused on the rolling stock production area observing and guiding team members on all matters related to the health and safety.

What you will be doing:

• Own the day- to -day safety functions of our rail vehicle manufacturing campus.

• Develop performance indicators and provide data for process measurement to identify root cause of problems.

• Supports hourly associates with regards to safety programs and influences high engagement and participation in all workplace initiatives

• Review projects coming on- line which involve new equipment.

• Establish individual goals which are aligned with the Company's business strategies and objectives.

• Promotes and facilitates a chemical guidelines program including approval of SDSs, hazard communication training, and waste disposal.

• Produces and perform contractor safety program.

• Builds and launches a personal protective equipment program by identifying the appropriate materials for job functions, and training.

• Manage the Lock OUT TAG OUT ( LOTO) program.

• Collaborates with local emergency response ensuring that there is site preparedness for any crisis.

• Encourage employee participation through energy and passion for workplace safety experience.

• Implements in house programs with high valued consultants and subject domain specialists and partners.

• Provides informational and professional assistance when collaborating with teammates

• Build's clarity with good oral and written communication skills.

• Crafts new procedures and approaches to problems within an established field.

• Resilient in the presence of challenges while embodying a proactive approach to problem solving

• Fosters interpersonal relationships based on our values of openness, respect and trust

• Accurate and timely completion of projects and/or reports.

What you will need to be successful:

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety or related subject area

• 5 years of broad and deep employee health and safety experience in a manufacturing environment

• Strong familiarity of OSHA, EPA, CAL OSHA and state and federal safety rules and regulations.

• Proficient computer skills: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.

The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
