Job Description:

Mission:

The Logistics ProjectSpecialistwill be responsible for developing business tools to improve the efficiency of order management operations, collaborating with business partners, when necessary, to achieve this primary goal.

Job Purpose:

The Logistics ProjectSpecialistsupports the Sr. Manager in the execution of strategic business objectives and in the proactive identification of process improvements targeting standardization and optimization of the current customer support model. The Project Specialist may receive direction from the Sr. Vice President of Logistics and may work directly with department Supervisors to develop projects critical to the advancement of objectives.

Leadership:

The Logistics ProjectSpecialistwill partner with department Supervisors to obtain support from the Order Management team in project development and implementation, and has flexibility to provide direction in the execution of tasks directly related to these projects.

Reporting:

The Logistics ProjectSpecialist will report directly to the GLSC Sr. Manager

Responsibilities:

· Define and develop tools, implement process improvements to meet business objectives

· Collaborate with internal / external customers and partners

· Benchmark metrics against industry standards

· Provide innovative solutions to support order management in SAP SD

· Translate objectives into business requirements, draft clear and concise specifications and documents

· Design and implement solutions based on internal needs

· Manage critical OEM relationships

· Support and participate in the development of Subject Matter Experts (SME)

· Operate as business process owner in international projects

· Leverage customer best practices, streamline support process to drive throughput and efficiencies

· Liaise with IT and SAP business analyst to provide specifications for system / process improvements

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, computer science, mathematics, operations or a related field.

  • A minimum of 5-8 years of project support / management experience.

  • Expertise in SAP/SD, Oracle, Enterprise Management Software preferred

  • Experience in and understanding of a wide variety of analytical processes

  • Proven record of process improvement

  • Ability to work with and report to multiple organizational levels

  • Must be self-motivated
