Job Description:

Our Penn Hall and New Kensington facilities are located east of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and are home to Siemens Power Generation Service's - Turbine Generator Specialty Services (TGSS) . From these locations (and with team members located across the Americas) we perform major repairs, upgrades, maintenance and inspection on the Siemens, Parsons, Westinghouse and Allis Chalmers turbine generator fleet. Our Team can perform almost any major service offered by the factory and perform the work at a customer site.

We are seeking a Generator Field Service Engineer to be based in the Pittsburgh area

RESPONSIBILITIES:

o Direct teams of technicians, field service engineers and craft labor personnel in the installation, repair maintenance and troubleshooting of generators at various customer sites.

o Specialty testing (low and high voltage) as required.

o Coordinate and manage staffing of project team at customer sites.

o Provide generator and generator interface knowledge and expertise to division management,

customer management, product line management and suppliers.

o Review and execute customer contract requirements.

o Prepare and forward accurate reports concerning the condition and repairs and recommendations

for customer equipment.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPEREINCE:

o Degree in Engineering

o 5-8 years progressive experience in a field service role with detailed knowledge of large electrical apparatus including (but not limited):

  • Generator inspection,

  • Generator testing,

  • Generator rewinds and repairs.

o Experience leading teams or groups.

o Specialty testing (low and high voltage) as required.

o Demonstrated organizational skills, planning, attention to detail and safety culture.

o Demonstrated skills using personal computers and software.

o Self-driven and resourceful to achieve goals independently as well as work well in groups.

o Flexibility to adjust and thrive in an environment with changing requirements, schedules and priorities for multiple projects or assignments.

o Demonstrated ability to work within teams - conceptualize and socialize ideas, make recommendations and facilitate team consensus to move forward.

o Innovation skills, creativity, willingness to share and explore new ideas.

o Flexibility and willingness for domestic and international travel 70-75% of the time.

o Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for degree.
