Project Engineer

Orlando, FL

Position Overview

Provide primary customer interface and manage Long Term Program (LTP) maintenance contracts for operating plant combustion turbines. This position is intended to focus on LTP power plants located in North America. Work with the District Service Office (DSO) and District Sales Manager for plant services, outages and issues. A high degree of customer relationship management and financial project management skills are required. Prepare Total Maintenance Service (TMS) meeting documents and lead TMS meetings with the assigned customers to plan maintenance outages, implement product modifications and upgrades to the plant. The upgrades and technical solutions typically restore or improve availability/reliability, solve operating issues, reduce LTP cost or improve performance. Establish and identify LTP parts pooling demand, configuration, and fulfillment needs. Establish and control costing strategies while developing and executing logistic requirements within the LTP term warranty fleet.

Major Responsibilities:

This function requires dedicated, self-starting, creative individuals with a working knowledge of combustion turbine plants, project engineering skills, good commercial sense, to perform the following tasks for assigned operating customers:

  • Keep customers advised of technical solutions affecting operation and maintenance of units.

  • Actively promote and implement improvement and upgrade programs.

  • Plan, schedule and implement CT outages.

  • Identify and resolve warranty and commercial issues.

  • Ensure technical correspondence, operating history and configuration records are maintained.

  • Analyze, interpret and help resolve problems associated with forced outages.

  • Manage the contract parts ordering/delivery and repairs.

  • Manage LTP contract program financials and present financial status to LTP management each quarter.

Required Skills, Education and Experience:

  • Knowledge and use Siemens tools and systems required.

  • The selected candidate will be required to attain their PM@Siemens certification within 1 year. This includes becoming Project Management Institute, PMP certified (Project Management Professional).

Education:

BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification may be required in some areas.

Knowledge and Experience:

Demonstrates and applies comprehensive knowledge of field of specialization to the successful completion of complex assignments. Demonstrates advanced knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization. Typically 8-10 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of key responsibilities and knowledge as presented above.

Provide specialized guidance or train support and /or professional staff. Leadership qualities and role model qualities demonstrated.

Primarily intra-organizational contacts and external contact.
