Project Engineer – Coating Manufacturing
Global OPS Repair is responsible for forecasting and capacity planning, cost reduction, quality qualification of suppliers and procurement.
As the Project Engineer, this individual will be assigned the primary responsibility of identifying coating-related cost reduction opportunities and driving specific projects and programs to reduce cost and increase utilization of Siemens owned assets. There are three main elements to this position:
Global Transparency – Collect data and bring transparency to the coating supply chain within Service globally and working closely with the PG GT organization.
Utilization of Internal Assets – Understand current utilization of existing assets and work with the organization to maximize utilization. Also ensure proper ‘make vs. buy’ decision making when considering outsourcing decisions.
Process Improvement and Production Harmonization – Identify opportunities to improve the coating processes and make them more consistent globally from one shop to the next. Identify best practices, internally and externally, and drive these across the shops.
• 10+ years of related experience
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• Ability to lead large scale projects
• Lean, Kaizen, and Six-Sigma experience
• Strong functional understanding of coatings and the coating process for gas turbine components
• Ability to work well in a team environment and be able to influences others both inside of and outside of the Global OPS group
• Strong oral and written communication skills required.
