Position Overview:

The Industrial Power Plant Solutions (IPPS) team is looking for a highly motivated individual for a Commercial Bid Manager role to support and help grow this new Power Generation Energy Solutions business in the Americas.

This individual will have an opportunity to develop ideas for various power plant solutions for penetration to the market as well as influence the development of the IPPS Americas organization, addressing the unique requirements of a variety of customers including municipalities, manufacturing facilities and other industrial locales.

In this role, you will be part of a team that consists of employees from multiple disciplines and in multiple locations, all focused on successful project execution and the development of winning proposals. The role entails working closely with Customers, Engineering, Supply Management, Site Execution, and the Products groups to support and execute new industrial solution opportunities. The role will also entail supporting new opportunities and set up on the pre award side.

Manage commercially the IPPS project management portfolio of Siemens Business Unit Energy Solutions Americas. Responsible for all commercial aspects of the bid preparation and will be representing the business unit in all commercial topics during the acquisition phase for power plant projects in North and Latin America. Work with multi-function teams across various financial and non-financial disciplines within various Siemens organizations. Drive results through project financial performance by engaging technical & commercial colleagues to identify & actively improve key performance indicators (e.g. project profit, cash flow, etc.)

As a Commercial Bid Manager, your responsibilities include:

  • Co-drive activities/strategy implementation together with Sales, Proposals, and Project Execution Management.Lead all commercial aspects of the bid preparation and ensure a high quality bid.

  • Lead all activities related to the New Collaboration Model (NCM) including engagement with Regional Entities.

  • Implement concepts and strategies for bid preparation (e.g. contract structure, FX, tax, importation, NCM, payment and cancellation schedule, joint and several liability in consortium contracts, state and country specific tax codes/structures, etc..)

  • Capture relevant regional market data, including deep understanding of customer value/revenue drivers, financial assessment based on financial statements.

  • Ensure correct and transparent sales calculation.

  • Drive the risk & opportunity assessment & management within the project teams and identify strategies to minimize/avoid risks & maximize/realize opportunities.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English-Conversational/Business proficiency)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field environment.

  • 15 years of progressive experience within commercial sales and bid proposal preparation.

  • Demonstrated expert competency with GAAP and IFRS reporting.

  • Experience with project management evaluation/recommendations within international project proposals.

  • Ability to provide strategic vision and delivery with competitive intelligence within markets, financial revenue drivers and risk management assessments.

  • Deliver clear verbal/written communications at all levels within team and management level.

  • Self-driven and resourceful to achieve goals independently as well as work well in groups.

  • Flexibility to adjust to changing requirements, schedules and priorities.

  • Ability to socialize ideas, make recommendations and gather team consensus to move forward.

  • Strong presentation/meeting facilitation skills

  • Flexibility to potentially travel 10%, including domestic/international.

  • No relocation assistance provided.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • 2+ years PoC for large commercial projects referred

  • Advanced education or certification (MBA, CPA, CMA).

  • International Projects Experience in financial and commercial topics.
