Mechanical Designer for Development of Large ANEMA AC Induction motors.
Candidates need to have practical knowledge of AC induction machines in the areas of mechanical engineering analysis and mechanical engineering design. Knowledge of 3D and 2D UGNX CAD software required. Knowledge of structural analysis, bearing design, and design of rotating machinery preferred.
Uses CAD design tools to create parts and mechanical assemblies that meet various standards including UL, NEMA and IEC global standards.
Supports design to cost (DTC) via design and release of measures identified.
Collaborates with Engineering, Simulation, Systems Engineering, Product Management, Purchasing, and Operations Engineering to ensure designs are designed for manufacture and fully meet customer requirements.
•Create new parts and assemblies to meet customer design requirements
• Accountable for the accuracy and functionality of created 3D designs and 2D drawings
•Create sheet metal parts, copper bus parts and assemblies using NX, AutoCAD and Teamcenter
•Use Teamcenter to manage and control models, drawings and bill of materials (BOMs)
•Troubleshoot and resolve complex design and process issues.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience:
1-3 years experience with 3D CAD designing mechanical parts and assemblies
•Experience with NX 3D software, AutoCAD software, Teamcenter, and SAP highly preferred
