Complete Description:

Position is responsible for developing applications for the collection, management, and analysis of R&D, manufacturing, and clinical data. Candidate should have 5 – 8 years work experience in an R&D or manufacturing environment with a minimum of 5 years experience developing applications to collect, manage, and analyze moderate to large amounts of structured and unstructured data.

Position Reports To: The Director, Biostatistics and Data Management

Responsibilities

Major Tasks of Position:

•Develop user friendly software applications to store, manage, and analyze data resulting from product development, manufacturing, clinical trials, and trouble shooting experiments.

•Develop applications in support of Statistical Process Control activities based on prototypes or written requirements provided by statisticians.

•Specify and administers databases used to collect data from product development and manufacturing.

•Develop applications for the collection and management of data generated by product development, manufacturing.

••Write software validation plans and oversee the execution of the plan

•Validate software and databases, developed by others

•Contribute in the development and implementation of programming standards and conventions

•Support and monitor data collection applications

Work Interactions:

•Statistical Affairs: Provide strong technical programming support and quality data to assists with data analysis tasks.

•R&D and Manufacturing: Provides tools for managing data generated during all product development phases.

Major Opportunities:

Maintains a clear line of communication with clients in order to understand the nature of the data and ensure the highest data quality. Makes certain that all data collection and management efforts adhere to regulatory agency requirements. Develops clear Global Procedures as well as user-friendly tools that ensure the GPs are correctly implemented. Creates new be flexible and dynamic tools to gather and track data.

Major Decisions:

Solves technical problems of non-routine nature and proposes novel, practical approaches to data collection, management and analysis.

Develops data collection tools ensuring that the data collected satisfies study and regulatory requirements.

Determines if data collected are accurate and satisfy quality requirements and ensures appropriate data are re-collected when necessary.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

B.S. in computer science, math, statistics or related field with 5-8 years of proven experience.

M.S. in life sciences, computer science, math, statistics, or related field with 3-5 years of practical experience.

Key Figures:

This position has no budget management responsibilities. Interacts directly with all members of a project teams and other functional managers.

Capabilities:

•Proficiency in at least 2 high level programming language such as Visual Basic .Net or C#

•Experience in data modeling and data representation, statistical methods and analysis, scripting languages (VBA), and HTML.

•Experience programming in SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)

•Proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL) and ODBC connectivity.

•Proficiency in programming applications that interact with SQL Server through ODBC connectivity

•Thorough understanding of relational database components and theory.

•Working knowledge of Oracle.

•Experience in the software development (requirement gathering, source control, revision control, and documentation etc.).

•Experience in writing software validation plans and overseeing the execution of the plans.

•Well organized with strong attention to detail, documentation, and follow-through. Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.

•Ability to work effectively within a team.

•Good Communication skills as demonstrated via telephone interactions, presentations and general written correspondence.

•PC SAS and SAS EBI experience is a plus

•SAS certification and SAS admin experience is a plus.

•Linux Experience is a plus

Travel may be up to 10% for this position
