We are seeking candidates who are interested in joining our Point of Care – R&D Development Program. The candidate will be hired into an R&D function with the primary responsibility to work on projects within that function. For a part of their time (up to 30%) over a two-year period, the candidates will undertake projects in functions outside of R&D to grow their knowledge and experience in these areas. Projects will be mentored by individuals within those functions and can range from 3-9 months in duration. Functions of interest to the candidate will definitely be focused on for the project assignments. The overall program is a duration of 24 months.
This specific position will be hired into Siemens Healthineers; the initial rotation is targeted for our Boston, MA office – participating in the development of In-Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) instrumentation that provides rapid and accurate diagnostic testing in a clinical setting. Candidates for the position can support either the Assay Development or the Systems Development aspects and should have up to two years of internship or full-time experience, graduating in Spring 2018 with an undergraduate degree, either in engineering disciplines (Biomedical, Chemical or Mechanical), or in scientific disciplines (Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or related majors).
Engineering Candidates should possess a strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and how they can be applied across engineering, chemistry, and software disciplines, as well as an appreciation for the regulated medical device industry. He/she will be able to perform systems thinking (big picture view). An understanding of electro-mechanical systems, precision fluidic handling, and software-controlled systems is preferable.
Scientific candidates should have a strong understanding of scientific fundamentals and how they can be applied across analytical chemistry, electrochemistry and biochemistry methodologies, as well as an appreciation for the regulated medical device industry. Experience in conducting research, problem solving, data analysis and/or process development is an added benefit.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are critical for the position.

• Majors: BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Biomedical, Software, Electrical) or Science (Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science etc.)
Graduation Date: Must graduate by the program start date, but no more than one year prior
• Minimum GPA: 3.2
• Potential Rotation Locations include but are not limited to: Mishawaka, IN; Elkhart, IN; Walpole, MA; Edgewater, MA
• Work Authorization: Permanent work authorization in the U.S. is required
