Siemens Rail Automation is expanding its Engineering operations and we're searching for an experienced Systems/Signal Design Engineer to develop HW and SW related to railroad and transit systems. In this role, you'll complete the design of complex systems that integrate hardware and application logic. More detailed responsibilities for this exciting Signal Design role include:
Completing complex material specifications and schematic preparation
Developing recommendations for ideas related to productivity improvement and cost reduction
Performing complex technical interchange and knowledge transfer for both process and application of products to system designs
Qualifications for this position include:
Education: Must posses a Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or 8 years railroad signaling experience
Technical proficiency: Must be proficient in the design of railroad and transit systems
Industry/business acumen: Railroad signaling
Work experience: 8 years direct experience in railroad signaling
Amount of travel with the position: Average 20%
Competent in legacy signal systems as projects permit
Design complex solid state interlocking solutions and tie-ins with legacy system
Design complex relay and interlocking and bridge designs
Understand current communication methods and various locking test
Able to check complete aspect charts (braking distances, average grades, curvature/elevation) and design CAB circuit
Perform design checks for interlockings, yard applications and grade crossings
Understand material requirements and power requirements for proposed equipment
Attend project surveys and capture pertinent information
Provide design solutions for designer's sketch
