Position Overview

Responds and carries out to completion any troubleshooting and repairs to assigned customer systems. Conducts testing and inspects systems under maintenance agreements. Identifies code issues and non-conformance issues and makes recommendations regarding both systems installations and service contract facilities. Reports daily on activities completed, deferred, requiring further action or material. Participates in On-Call assignments/ schedules as required. Acts as a mentor and provides on-the-job training to lower level Field Service Technicians as assigned. Performs system commissioning on systems including loading software programs and implementing modifications as necessary. Conducts on-going system operation training for end user customers. A.S. degree in Electronics or related field, or equivalent experience in the installation and maintenance of low voltage electronic Fire Alarm systems. 2 to 3 years in the installation and maintenance of Fire Safety products. NICET Certification Requirements. (National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technology) Level II Fire Alarm Certification Within 24 months State or local fire alarm planner or contractor license as required by state regulations within 24 months. Strong customer service skills. Good verbal and written communications skills. Skilled in the PC applications and in the use of word processing and spreadsheet programs Ability to lift seventy-five (75) pounds unassisted. Must have valid state drivers license.

Individual must possess a valid Driver's license in good standing

Individual must be at least 21 years of age in order to participate in the required Siemens vehicle plan

Responsibilities

Participates in semi-complex equipment installation, trial runs, investigative tests, repairs and overhauls. Participates in training customers on semi-complex products and services. Performs semi-complex maintenance on tools, test equipment, etc., and maintains documents of all installations, inspections, maintenance and repair work, and failures. Participates in responding to semi-complex service or systems calls. Participates in the assessment of semi-complex product/equipment performance based on field support data and recommends modifications or improvements.

Education:

Associates degree or 1-2 years of vocational technical training preferred. HS diploma or equivalent required. Specialized skill training/certification may be required.

Knowledge and Experience:

Demonstrates comprehensive working knowledge of a technical or specialty area, and of operations, methods, and practices. Generally, 2-5 years of successful experience in area of responsibility and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above.

Key Working Relationships:

Primarily intra-organizational contacts and limited external contacts.
