Risk Manager (Portfolio Management, Energy Finance, Americas)

Job Description :

As part of the Portfolio Management team, the Risk Manager is responsible for maintaining ongoing portfolio management, credit analysis and review on closed Project & Structured Finance (i.e. Power and Oil & Gas) transactions for SFS Inc. The ongoing credit risk portfolio management includes but is not limited to the borrower, loan structure and documentation, with Portfolio Specialist typically managing 30+ accounts. The Risk Manager is also responsible for processing waiver and amendment requests for borrowers in its assigned portfolio of transactions. The incumbent will have a strong understanding of how the request affects the borrower’s risk profile and its effect on SFS. In addition, the Risk Manager will serve in an audit function to ensure that all policies, guidelines and procedures are being appropriately followed for its transactions.

Responsibilities:

•Perform credit risk analysis, prepare periodic portfolio reviews (monthly and annual) and analyze borrowers’ historical performance against original projections.

•Timely processing of all customer requests including underwriting of amendments/waivers, detailed review of legal documents and assessment of impact to SFS and underlying Project.

•Manage assigned customer accounts and forge excellent working relationships with SFS customers and agent bank institutions.

•Develop strong working relationships with other internal departments (Legal, Operations, Accounting).

•Create and maintain portfolio files, ongoing filing of financial statements, covenant compliance and legal documents.

•Ensure that all risk management guidelines are adhered to and that exceptions are well documented.

•As needed, assist Underwriters with creating credit packages and credit committee presentations.

•Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

•Bachelor's Degree ideally in Finance, Business Administration or Accounting.

•Strong verbal and written communication skills including ability to interact effectively with all levels of management.

•Minimum 4+ years of professional experience in Banking, Finance or Energy.

•Good understanding of loan transaction structures, including covenant and reporting requirements preferred.

•Proficiency with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

•Analytical aptitude/experience.

•Experience working with financial models is a plus.

•Good time management and ability to meet tight deadlines.

•Detail-orientation and strong organization skills.

•Ability to interact well with others in a team environment.

•Strong ability to operate in a high volume, time pressured environment while maintaining a positive focus.

•High degree of flexibility, energy and initiative.
