Field Supervisor for a multi-million dollar energy efficiency, conservation, and renewable technology project. Manage the operations team as well as subcontractors and lead the construction and successful implementation of the project.
Reports to On-Site Project Manager
Role and responsibilities:
This position works closely with the Project Manager. The goal of this position is to oversee the field teams to ensure efficient and high quality execution of field work that meets or exceeds job/project/contract budget and schedule. The Field Supervisor has field technicians and warehouse managers as direct reports and manages their day to day operations, as well as potential subcontractors and suppliers and ensures smooth workflow and compliance with established procedures and protocols.
-Responsible for planning and maintaining schedule of all field resources and coordinating with PM
-Redirect, borrow, hire and share manpower resources as necessary to meet schedules.
-Ensure proper information is turned over to field to efficiently execute work (i.e. plans, estimated hours, schedule, etc.). This includes conducting regular site surveys
-Ensure field execution meets or beats project budgets
-First level of support for field technical issues.
-Coordinate with PM and field to quickly resolve execution issues.
-Ensure entire team accurately completes all required documentation weekly or per due dates- timesheets, Work Orders, daily logs, P-card, expenses, etc.
-Ensure all materials used by the field for emergency calls, response, etc. is tracked (if not input into the SAP Cockpit) and input into SAP the following day.
-Perform periodic checks of field work to ensure high quality of work, and identify potential productivity opportunities.
-Track and ensure proper safety training, and personnel safety equipment for all team members
-Conduit to the field- conduct regular meetings with all field personnel to share company information, updates, safety, etc.
-Participate in area/regional/staff meetings and decisions as requested.
-Provide feedback to all field personnel regarding performance, quality, and productivity issues.
-Managing performance issues, utilize employee recognition tools.
-Roll out new processes or initiatives pertaining to field teams.
-Coordinate appropriate training for Field team in conjunction with Project Manager
-Ensure proper communication between the PM, customer, subcontractors, suppliers and the field team.
-Work with Sales/Regional Managers/PMs on labor estimates/pre-bid reviews when requested
-Compliance with corporate policies, processes and protocols.
-Minimum 4 years electrical, mechanical, engineering, or industrial power construction project management work experience focusing on complex facility infrastructure construction, renovations, retrofits, upgrades, building controls and automation, energy services, and renewable technology.
-Class B license required, Class A preferred.
-Completion or progress toward engineering, technical, or industry-related education preferred.
Demonstrated work experience with direct digital energy controls systems, variable frequency drives, high efficiency motors, central plant chiller and boiler installations, lighting retrofits, renewable energy technology, warranty and service requirements preferred.
-Proven experience with OSHA safety standards, mechanical and electrical systems development, engineering, and project management regulations, practices, and codes.
-Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and foster positive business relationships.
-Strong communication and presentation skills (verbal and written)
-Proficient computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, Project, Power Point, Visio, etc.
-U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status required.
-Valid Drivers’ License in good standing, issued by resident state.
-May be required to pass security clearance investigation.
-May require on-call response and travel.
Key Working Relationships:
Contacts are primarily with immediate manager and others in the group. Sales, Customer Service (Operations Managers and Service Account Managers in particular), Product Life-Cycle Management, R&D, Project Management, Supply Chain management, and external contact with distributors and/or customers.
