We are currently seeking a software engineer to join our engineering team, who will help develop the next generation of our X-ray imaging system, which is used in interventional angiography and cardiac catheterization procedures. The ideal candidate should have experience developing software platforms, ideally with experience developing image processing libraries and/or, developing software libraries that abstract/encapsulate custom hardware devices. This position will work in a cross-functional organization, within a medium size software project team.
•Design and implement software libraries focused on processing medical x-ray images.
•Implement image processing software based on functional requirements and business needs.
•Write component design and test specifications.
•Work with other teams to integrate solutions into the product.
•Conduct and participate in peer reviews and inspections of requirements, design documents and software.
•Create estimates for own work and provide input to complex feature estimations.
•Develop proof of concept software to support new feature investigations and feasibility studies.
•Manage changes to existing software products.
•Software development experience in C++ or C#/.net on windows platform
•Good understanding of software engineering practices and object-oriented design
•Strong analytic and problem solving skills
•Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
•Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment as part of a globally distributed team
•Strong quality orientation and customer focus.
•Occasional domestic and international travel required.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills ( Any of the following skills would be a strong plus )
•Experience with image processing framework (IPP, Open CV)
•Experience with GPU programming (OpenCL, CUDA or OpenGL)
•Experience developing software libraries that abstract and encapsulate custom hardware devices
•Experience developing medical device software or developing software in other highly regulated environments.
Education/Equivalent Training Required
BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field required with a 2-5 years of experience. Masters degree is a plus.
