This role is based at our site in Hebburn in the North East.

Please note, we are unable to sponsor a visa for this role so you must have permanent right to work in the UK, and not require visa sponsorship at any point in the future, in order to be considered.

What can I expect?

You will join a community of like-minded early career professionals where you will bond and grow with team-building activities and real problems to solve. You will be given responsibility for challenging opportunities which will help you succeed.

Responsibilities include:

  • Your main focus will be to support the development and testing of the communication protocols within the Reyrolle devices to International Standards.

  • You will work closely with software developers in the UK and China to specify and deliver new protocols and enhancements to protocols IEC61850, ModBus TCP, etc.

  • The role will be very hands-on and you will be expected to test compliance to the relevant standards and organize external certification.

  • Monitoring changes in the relevant communications standards and assisting the rest of the team in long term planning. In the longer term, participation in International Standards Committees to represent Siemens would be expected.

What do I need to apply?

  • You will be working towards a degree in Communications, Electronics and Communications or Network Engineering.

  • Any experience using an agile design approach and working in a team desirable

  • You are a good communicator with the ability to present ideas and results and have good interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
