The Control Products (CP) business unit plays a vital role in the overall performance and sustainability of Siemens Digital Factory (DF) business in the U.S. We offer an extensive array of control products based on leading edge technology and innovation, which offer infrastructure around our automation and drives portfolio, and is foundational to our Totally Integrated Automation offering. To grow within the 1 billion dollar plus U.S industrial controls market requires focus in specific industries, and tight collaboration with our other business units, sales, channel, partners, and key customers and prospects. Leading this effort in the business unit is our national vertical industries business development team.
The Control Products (CP) business unit of Siemens is seeking an individual to join our team in the southeast as an Automotive Business Developer(BD). As the BD, you would be responsible for managing our CP business within the Automotive and Tire industries. This would include working with our Automotive vertical, OEM, and Area sales teams, leading business planning and strategy development, assuming an active role in capture team activities at our target accounts, and being the trusted advisor for our business unit, sales, channel, and customers for topics related to our products within your industry focus.
Although the role will require a technical competency, the focus of the BD would be commercial, and strategic in nature. Through collaboration with headquarters, and domestic product management, marketing promotions, and our technical team will provide you with additional support to maximize your success potential.

Sets the vision and strategy of how we execute within respective industry assigned, monitoring and reporting on activities
Responsible for planning, developing, and implementing coordinated market strategies in alignment with the long range business plans of the business unit.
Development and implementation of marketing strategies and programs to achieve sales, profit and market share goals
In order to convince potential customers to use Siemens control products, the ideal candidate for this position will possess specific knowledge of industrial controls, industry applications, and business development capabilities
Field based awareness and training for customers, partners, and channel as well as sales colleagues
Active participation and leadership in Account Business Planning sessions, including assignments on capture teams, and follow-up activities to drive sales growth at target accounts
Supports collaboration effort with headquarter based Verticals & Key Accounts team
Participate in mandatory reporting and planning sessions
Up to 50% domestic travel required with possible international travel
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
5 years of experience and expertise with Controls, and Circuit Protection: IEC and NEMA controls, Circuit Breakers, ect
Technical writing experience, and presentation development using Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint
Dynamic and compelling presentation deliver skills
Proven promotional and consulting role experience
Excellent time management and prioritization skills
Creativity and problem solving skill set
Self-starter with aggressive energy to accomplish assigned tasks on time
Bachelor Degree inElectrical Engineeringor equivalent experience in related discipline
Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
5 years of experience and expertise with MCCs, Controls, and Circuit Protection: IEC and NEMA controls, Circuit Breakers, ect
Bachelor Degree inElectrical Engineering
Experience in Automotive and Tire markets, and applications
Knowledge of general business functions, including: marketing, manufacturing, finance, product development, engineering and global business issues
Must possess demonstrated ability to work across functions to drive value into market; must have demonstrated ability to drive cooperation across other businesses to harmonize efforts with other product businesses
Ensure overall market effectiveness by influencing the portfolio, product placement and position in the market.
Familiarity with technological trends, market requirements, customer requirements and needs. Ability to recognize and anticipate market and segment trends
Possess comprehensive understanding of, and experience in directing strategic pricing decisions based on a balance of market needs, and BU financial goals and impact
Previous experience with Siemens Control Products a plus
Experience working with customers on quotes, proposals and solutions development
Ability to travel up to 50% domestic and occasional international
