Job Description:

Siemens US Talent Acquisition


Provides remote and on-site technical support to customers and field technicians for installation and/or repair of security product(s). Serves as customer contact on technical and service related problems diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hardware, software and systems failures using established procedures. Scope: Both job families can support either systems or service Provides remote technical support to customers, field employees and support local branches. Troubleshoots and provides technical assistance to solve customer problem(s). Determines most cost effective repair/resolution to minimize customer downtime. Prepares reports for analysis of product failure trends and service ability issues. Programs new installation databases, performs system start-ups, installation and turnover. Installs host computer systems and miscellaneous software applications. Trains customer on the use of the system and manages system administration. Supplies project engineering expertise to support sales and project management efforts. Continues education to remain current with changes in technology and company products and services. Maintains and adheres to all safety programs, laws, policies and procedures set forth in the company handbook and other official sources. Senior: Ability to navigate network topologies and understands network hardware relationships and serial communications. Knowledge of multiple operating systems to include Windows 2000, 98, 95, NT 4.0, AIX, and UNIX platforms. Works with and supports most complex and/or largest accounts.

Individual must possess a valid Driver's license in good standing

Individual must be at least 21 years of age in order to participate in the required Siemens vehicle plan

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

Provides technical support, mentoring and advice to management, technicians and specialists as required. H.S. Diploma or State Board of Education certified GED along with Related/equivalent experience or Associates Degree required. Associates degree in Electronics or Information Systems preferred. 3-5 years (Senior: 5-7 years) in related industry experience. Vendor certifications, basic networking certifications, and basic UNIX and MCSE certifications required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and networks and advanced troubleshooting of communication protocols. Some travel required.
