Job Description: District Manager – Wind Power Services

Drive the business performance of wind farms:

  • Deliver profits equal to or exceeding original contract values by developing or implementing

VGPs or other process improvements, ensuring responsible operational expenses, and other


  • Provide structured reporting on both operational and financial performance, at both prescheduled

project reviews and ad-hoc requests. Understand the financial system, and

therefore the impact and value of decision making on financial performance. Perform

independent and undirected analysis of sites’ metrics to ensure highest level of


  • Deliver the on time completion of all scheduled services and retrofits, and the timely repair

of malfunctioning turbines, by ensuring adequate resources (people, tools, parts) are

available when needed.

Manage the relationship with customers:

  • Perform as the customer’s Point Of Contact to Siemens, interacting in a congenial and

productive way. Ease our customers’ lives by making their dealings with Siemens simple

and satisfying.

  • Ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction, while still preserving the interests and

reputation of Siemens (e.g., financial performance).

  • Drive rapid and satisfactory responses to customer inquiries, through independent research,

delegation of tasks to staff members, and/or collaboration with other organizations within


  • Promote the services available through Siemens, to include contract extensions, parts sales,

modification/upgrade sales, etc., as available.

Lead and manage staff:

  • Act as a model for the safety culture, ensuring:

oThe safety of our workforce is the highest priority,

oNo intentional or unintentional pressure is applied to bypass or minimize safetyrelated


oSafety equipment is always available, or work is stopped,

oAll components of the safety programs are supported (e.g., observations, risk

assessments, etc.)

oEmployees are held accountable for their actions.

  • Constantly increase engagement of workforce by proactively addressing emerging concerns,

constant and complete communications at all levels, ensuring fairness in all matters.

  • Ensure that the performance management process is adhered to for all staff in a fair and

timely manner. Promote employee development opportunities. Identify and

promote/progress staff members to ensure maximum benefit to the individual and the

business utilizing HR and Management approval processes.

  • Carry out corrective action and the progressive discipline process when and where needed.

Holding all employees consistently accountable to the Siemens Standards of Conduct.

  • Interact with all levels of the organization in a respectful and collaborative way.

This role is strongly focused on leadership. The individual must be capable of inspiring performance of

employees (within and without his/her organization) through both formal and informal means.

District managers must navigate through ambiguous situations that lack precedent, and deliver

outcomes that are favorable for both customers and Siemens, with minimal supervisory input.

District managers must be effective communicators, able to create compelling written documents and

make convincing presentations, to staff members, peers, and executives, as well as customers. This also

includes ensuring that the manager is kept informed of all necessary matters.

District managers must be able to work irregular hours and travel as required.
